Perry also plays host to numerous festivals throughout the year and is home to a wide array of tourist attractions. The Dogwood Festival and the Georgia National Fair are a few of Perry's well-known events.

According to 2000 Census, the City of Perry had a population of 9,602 persons. Between 1990 and 2000, the city experienced a population increase of 1.6%, compared to the state growth during this period of 26.4%.
